SmartSTREAM Support Manual
Return to Support Manual TOPLive Streaming
Live streaming is similar to a live television broadcast, where viewers watch at a scheduled time. “Chase playback” is also available for viewers who start watching after the stream has begun. For stable streaming, you need a camera to capture video, an encoder (such as LiveShell or OBS), and a stable internet connection.

Live
Configure live streaming settings. As needed, you can record all or part of a live stream and distribute it later as on-demand streaming. There are two types: “Live TO File,” which records the entire live stream, and “Video Clip,” which records part of the live stream.
| Item Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Title | The title of the live stream. Since it is not published externally, please set a name that is easy for the distributor to understand. |
| Input Method | Select from RTMP, RTP, or UDP. Normally, RTMP is recommended. |
| Profile | Select the profile to use. |
| Live to File | Set to Yes if you want to record the entire live stream and distribute it later as on-demand streaming. If you want to record only part of the live stream and distribute it on demand, set “Scheduled Video Clip” after creating and saving the live event. |
| Media Group | Specify which media group (= folder) this video belongs to. |
| Tag | You can assign tags. Tags can be used for searches. |
| Reference ID | You can specify a reference ID for the live stream. The reference ID is used for live searches. |
| Description | The description of the live stream. |
Video Clip
Configure this when you want to record part of a live stream and distribute it as on-demand streaming. Specify the recording (clip) range by date and time. The range can only be specified after live encoding has started and while the status is Encoding. If you reuse a previously stopped live event for live streaming, please create a new Video Clip setting.
* Once a live stream is stopped, any Video Clips set during streaming (encoding), even if scheduled for a future date, will be treated as ended.
| Item Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Profile | Select the profile to use. |
| Period (Japan Time) | Select the recording period. It is recommended to set both the start and end times slightly wider than the actual period you wish to record. |

| Title | The title of the Video Clip. |
Live TO File
