Enhancing the added value of event novelties through our proprietary card-based authentication service combined with a stable video streaming system

We provide a card-based solution service called TOUCHCARD®, which utilizes cutting-edge domestic printing technology and its associated authentication system.
Currently, it is mainly used in events as novelties or perks, for events of all sizes, and by many customers. In this particular project, we were commissioned by a major domestic film distributor to manufacture admission gift cards for a theatrical release and to build a system enabling viewers to watch exclusive original video content. In implementing this initiative, we needed to identify the most suitable video streaming platform.
While we had previously used free video streaming services in some cases, this project required far more robust capabilities. In addition to ensuring that content could only be viewed through a site accessible via TOUCHCARD®, we needed strong security measures and content rights protection, as well as the availability to withstand large-scale distribution. For these reasons, a feature-rich and highly reliable streaming system was essential.

As mentioned above, in selecting the system, the key requirements included:
• Stability and availability capable of handling concentrated access before and after events
• Content rights protection with access control that restricts viewing to within our own service site
• Flexibility to accommodate short-term use, given the tight delivery schedule and event-centered utilization period
Amid these conditions, the system that best fit our specific use case was the SmartSTREAM Video Platform Service.
NTT SmartConnect’s cloud infrastructure is backed by the high reliability required for mission-critical business systems, access restrictions are available as standard features, and the minimum usage period is just one month. These factors significantly lowered the barrier to adoption and ultimately became decisive points in our selection.

After implementing the service, we found the overall usability—including the management interface—to be exceptionally intuitive, allowing us to begin video distribution far more easily than anticipated. In terms of system stability, even when the platform handled tens of thousands of accesses in a single day, there were no issues whatsoever, and we received words of surprise and praise from our client.
In addition, when embedding the video player into the event website, we received comprehensive support from the sales representative, enabling a smooth implementation process. We greatly appreciated this assistance and have experienced many moments that reaffirmed our decision to adopt the service.
